This Pennsylvania-based landscaping company had a solid online presence — strong Google reviews, active SEO, and a verified Google My Business profile.
However, they faced one main challenge: despite offering premium landscaping services, they weren’t getting high-quality landscaping leads that matched their project value.
Their goal was clear — attract more landscaping, hardscaping, and custom pool leads using Google Ads for local landscaping businesses.
To solve this, we launched Google Ads for landscaping from scratch in May, applying the same proven Google Ads funnel strategy we’ve used successfully in other home improvement niches like window replacement. Window Replacement.
Step 1: Landing Page Optimization
We started with landing page optimization, the first pillar of our Google Ads funnel strategy for local businesses.
Their original pages were cluttered — too much text, no clear value proposition, and no visible call-to-action.
Even worse, the form was long and complex, frustrating potential landscaping clients.
To fix this, we:
- Added a clear value proposition above the fold
- Improved UX/UI design to look premium and trustworthy
- Added strong CTAs that matched ad intent
- Included social proof and visuals for credibility
- Simplified the lead form for better conversion
We also integrated Microsoft Clarityto monitor user behavior and identify scroll/drop-off patterns for further optimization.
Step 2: Ad Management and Tracking
Next, we focused on Google Ads management and tracking.
We launched three distinct PPC campaigns — one each for landscaping, hardscaping, and custom pool construction.
Each campaign followed our HVAC Google Ads campaign management system used in successful HVAC and window replacement accounts.
We created theme-based ad groups with location targeting for affluent Pennsylvania neighborhoods — while excluding low-income ZIP codes to keep the focus on high-ticket landscaping leads.
This precise targeting strategy ensured we reached homeowners ready to invest in premium outdoor projects.
Step 3: Funnel Tracking and Lead Quality
To track performance, we used WhatConverts integrated with Google Ads and the client’s CRM.
This setup provided call transcriptions, form details, and lead source data — allowing us to monitor lead quality across the entire Google Ads funnel.
We held bi-weekly strategy meetings to review lead quality and align with the client’s sales team.
This feedback loop helped us refine campaigns continuously.
As a result, within just three months (May–July), the landscaping PPC campaigns generated $145K in verified sales with consistent lead quality improvement.
